New Food Scale!

Posted Feb 10 2010 1:43pm

I woke up this morning feeling a little betterbut still pretty groggy. You know that feeling when your whole body just aches and feels like it is struggling to move? Yeah that's how I've been feeling.

Breakfast was a blueberry bagel this morning.

Lunch was a banana and a turkeycheeseand mustard sandwich on whole wheat bread.

Guess what came in the mail for me today!? My very first food scale! I am excited to try it out!

Have any of you ever had this food scale or one like it?

It works as a kitchen timerclockand thermometer as well.

Yesterday coming home from work I made the following comment: "I just don't think I can do it." My boyfriend was not very happy that I said that because he doesn't like it when I doubt myself. I sat there and thought a bit about what he saidand you know what…he's right (gasp! he will be so happy to read that I said that).

Negative comments will only bring me downhinder my workoutsand make me feel inadequate. I have to STOP. Going along with this ideahere are some ideas to make your workouts a little more enjoyable and less dreaded.

- Plan out your workout. I plan a week ahead of time and this way it makes me know what I need to do when.
- Make it fun.
Exercise at some point is going to get monotonous. I always try to add new ideas whether it is a new treadmill interval workoutnew weight exercisesor trying out a new class.
-Listen to your body. If your body is hurting in some way listen to it. Don't force yourself to do something you know it can't handle.
-Find a workout buddy. It always helps if you have someone there with you. I don't usually work out with anyone in particularthough my boyfriend is typically with me when we go to the gym.
-Do what YOU enjoy.
If you don't like to rundon't run. If you don't like yogadon’t do yoga. Don't choose how to work out just because someone else enjoys it. You have to find what you enjoy and don't compare yourself to others.

Self-Love for today: Give yourself a compliment. It is so easy for each of us to be hard on ourselvesso for today give yourslef a much deserved compliment!

My compliment: I have great determination. I have a lot of stressdon't feel welland have a lot of other things I need to do but I am still going to the gym and sticking to my workout schedule!

Off to the gymthen to showerand head to the NC State vs. Virginia Tech basketball game!

Check Back Later: to see my workout for the day.
