As the years go by, we're learning a lot about health, fitness and nutrition and as our conscious and knowledge continues to expand, so does the quest for new solutions to help out some of the problems of exercise such as sore muscles and fatigue. One which has been gaining popularity, even among the bodybuilding community are healing stones... yeah, I said it... healing stones. Hard to believe I know, but read on and I'll tell you why.

First of all, what are Healing Stones? They are "stones" or a combination of semiprecious gemstones and crystals and have been used as treatment and belief system dating back over 5,000 years ago. The people in ancient Egypt and China used this remedy to release negative energy and cleanse the mind, body, and soul. Much of society practices different means for alternative medicines today, and some believe that when a healing stone is placed near an affected body part, the stone can actually assist or change the body's vibration. Healing stones are most commonly used during massages or at a day spa to help sooth aching muscles after long or vigorous exercise, and they have recently become integrated into aerobics and fitness therapy. Believe it or not, many rehabilitation patients are heading to their fitness warm up with healing stones, specifically Amber, tucked into their pockets or hanging around their necks. The strong belief is that the amber stone assists in pain absorption, while also being a powerful healing aid.  Feeling like a little Debbie downer now and then? Well one healing stone, Rhodochrosite, is said to  have the ability to lift depression, encourage optimism, open the heart, improve self-worth, sooth mental and emotional stress. It apparently can actually regulate the beat of the heart, balancing blood pressure and assisting circulation. Wearers have also reported migraine relief, an alleviation of thyroid and intestinal problems, and improvements in skin disorders.  Rhodocrosite also promotes physical activity, as well as optimism and health. So they say, the use of a single gem or a combination of several stones can energize you during a new exercise program that you may be hesitant to attempt. Try your normal routine with a healing stone tucked onto your person and you may notice the incredible emotional and mental difference it will make.  Most of you reading this may find this hard to believe, I know I did, but maybe this is something to look into?
