In the earlier post titled Tooth And Lips Discoloration: Symptoms, And Their Causes we discussed about the symptoms and chief causes of tooth and lips discoloration. In this post we are going to discuss about some home and natural remedies which helps in avoiding and treating tooth and lips discoloration.
Nature has provided us with marvelous things which heals and improves our health. However, the first step is to maintain and follow a healthy dental regime. Also, to avoid the foods those are responsible for tooth and lips discoloration such as tea, coffee as well as cigarette smoking.
1. Strawberries paste: The following paste made by using strawberries and other ingredients is extremely helpful in reducing tooth and lips discoloration. Take three to four strawberries, a cup of water, two teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of tartar cream. Add all these ingredients in a blender and make a paste. Apply this paste all over the teeth and leave overnight.
You can use a teeth whitening tray over your teeth to make sure the paste stays in its place. Repeat this process for one week. If you find it difficult to sleep with the tray on, then leave it for at least an hour before sleeping and remove it before you sleep.
2. Almond Oil: Take some almond oil and apply it on your lips with your finger. Almond oil is an excellent moisturizer and helps in reducing tooth and lips discoloration. Almond oil also helps in preventing and reducing the stains on the lips caused by smoking.
3. Clarified butter: In Indian it is known as ghee. You can apply clarified butter on your lips in similar manner as almond oil. Apply it at night, before sleeping, for best results. This is a very popular natural remedy to heal lips and improve their appearance.
4. Lemon and glycerin: Lemon is a very helpful natural remedy to improve and retain the color of the lips. Lemon and its juice have natural bleaching properties. Scrub a small piece of lemon very gently on your lips for five minutes to reduce discoloration. Make sure you apply a layer of glycerin on your lips before rubbing the lemon as it may feel very harsh and sour. Rinse off after ten minutes.
5. Soda bicarbonate: Rub soda bicarbonate on your teeth to reduce tooth and lips discoloration. Do this in the morning and then brush your teeth normally. Use this natural remedy for tooth and lips discoloration once in every fifteen days. Do not do this everyday.
6. Water: your teeth and lips may experience stains after you eat certain foods. To reduce tooth and lips discoloration, rinse your mouth with water and to remove food particles from the mouth. Rinse your mouth with water after smoking a cigarette as well. Doing this regularly will reduce the appearance of stains. Water will also help in keeping your lips hydrated and soft which will prevent then from turning a darker shade in the long run.
7. Chap stick: Keep a chap stick handy and apply it over your lips whenever they feel dry. This will keep your lips soft and healthy.
8. Bark of walnut tree: Gently massage your teeth with a bark of walnut tree this will help in reducing stains from the teeth.
