namas-day: morning practice + by-donation flow class in DC!

I had a pretty exciting morning that propelled me through a rather dull day at work today.

Yesterday I was kind of stressed and having a lot of trouble quieting my mind, as has been the case since I started my 40 hour per week internship, coupled with classes, coupled with being a good future spouse...

I felt like the answer to my woes was that I needed more yoga in my life. Though I've blogged here about my desire to start a home practice, that goal hasn't quite taken off yet. the last few weeks I was concentrating on MCM10K training and making sure I could fit in long runs as I started work. As I head into post-race land, getting more yoga in my workout rotation is definitely a goal.

So, after examining the schedules of every yoga studio within a ten mile radius (I seriously had so many MindBodyOnline scheduler tabs open they kept synching and refreshing) and concluding that nothing was convenient for me, I decided I was just going to try to get what I needed on my own this morning. I found this practice  from Yoga Journal which focuses on Arm Balances, decided to stick a few Sun Salutations before it and some standing poses and backbends after it, and voila! A home practice is born.

So was my crow pose!

Yes, I did use Game of Thrones as my "block," and yes,
I'm still afraid of falling on my face. 
On an important yoga-related note, as part of my fundraising campaign for this year's  Multiple Myeloma Race for Research , my team is hosting a by-donation yoga class as a fundraiser!
