Slept like a rock last night and shelved my run for the afternoon to a) enjoy sunshine and b) sleep some more. Finally!
But when I did actually wake up, I discovered this mystery bruise on my middle finger of my right hand.
Can you see it?
It is actually a lot worse in person, the photo does no it justice. It is actually BLUE on the sides. I’ve never truly understood “black and blue”, just the black, but now I do! And it is painful to the touch in the middle of that part of my finger, not the joint where the bruise looks darkest. Weird, right? I have no idea what caused it!
Anyways, I made myself a batch of chocolate protein oats which were DELISH!
1/4 cup rolled oats, 2 tbsp Bob's Red Mill 7 grain cereal, 2 tbsp TJ's chocolate hemp protein powder, 1 tbsp raisins, 2/3 cup water; topped with unsweetened coconut flakes
Adding just a touch of the Bob’s Red Mill 7 grain hot cereal was PERFECT because it made it just the right texture. Yummy! And this baby kept me full for four hours. I love the staying-power that you get from adding the protein powder. Plus it makes your oatmeal taste like Ovaltine and gives you AWESOME brown specks in your teeth. Win-win situation.
I got to take a nice break mid-morning to walk the puppy around the block and a quick jaunt across the street to ocean (she’s too afraid to actually get in the water). After a hard-working morning, I busted out my awesome, tasty lunch.
1 toasted sandwich thin, 1 TJ's tofu burger, raw zucchini, 1 wedge Laughing Cow French Onion light; baby carrots.
Yeah, I used the whole wedge. You gotta go all or nothing with cheese.
After the burger, I had a lovely dessert
Sliced strawberries and blueberries
After lunch I got the fun experience of being a witness to someone signing their will which took a mere 10 signatures on my part. There were a million copies! But I finished my work early and we decided it was best to bring the obnoxious one (Sophie) home where she could whine and bark at just me instead of the whole office.
Now I’m home and I’m going to take advantage of the awesome weather and go for a quick run. Not sure how far or long I’ll go… I might keep it on the shorter side and plan my last long run for Friday before I begin to taper for my 10k. We shall see.
