After dinner, we went to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug in theatres. It was very well done! Although it was long and some of the CG was a little cheesy at times, I thought Peter Jackson cast the characters perfectly and I fell in love with all of them. But that might just be the former LOTR fanatic shining through!
Saturday morning, my sister made us a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs with ham and spinach, and blood orange slices. We also grabbed Starbucks to give us some energy after a late night so that we could shop!
We spent the entire morning and early afternoon shopping at a variety of stores. I picked up a pair of boots from Le Chateau, wonder unders from Lululemon, and a sweater from H&M.
My sister also encouraged me to try these incredible B'day Truffles. They taste like cake batter coated with cake crumbs. They were to die for! Next time I'm in Toronto, I will certainly be picking up more of these!
By the time we were done shopping, it was time for lunch! We went to Jack Astor's where I ordered The Smiling Buddah salad. It was tasted great! I know I'll be ordering it again the next time I go to Jack Astor's.
We had such a fun weekend, but it was also nice to return home to spend my entire Sunday relaxing and doing absolutely nothing!
I was a little bored late last night so I decided to try making my own juice. I simply blended together the ingredients in a blender then pressed the mixture twice through a fine mesh strained and voila! I made the orange juice using carrots, apples, lemon juice and cucumber, and the green juice using spinach, kale, cucumber, apples and oranges.
I drank the green juice today along with a bowl of large flake oats with two egg whites and agave nectar for sweetness.
Before heading off to get some groceries, I finished off a container of strawberry Greek yogurt and topped it with chia seeds.
I also sipped on a mug of tea to stay warm on this chilly day!
By the time we got home from grocery shopping, it was well into the afternoon. I picked up a box of Glutino Gluten Free pizza crust to try out.
I topped my pizza with light mozzarella cheese, orange bell pepper, red onion, and spinach.
The crust tasted really good! Despite my expectations, it was crispy and did not go soggy at any point.
Since I had breakfast and lunch so late in the day, I didn't have much of a dinner tonight. I ended up having a bit more yogurt along with some Kashi Honey Puffed cereal.
I took Friday off as a rest day, but I was able to fit in an incredible workout Saturday night. I've heard a lot about Turbo Fire and I really wanted to give it a try! I did the Fire 45 Class last night and was shocked at how intense it was! I was able to keep up fitness-wise; however, the routine was very fast-paced and difficult to follow at times. It does come with an instructional video that breaks down the workout step by step, but I figured my 8 years of dance experience would make it a walk in the park for me. That wasn't the case! This workout kept my brain moving just as much as it kept my body moving, which I loved! I'm sure when I do it a second time, it'll be much easier. I plan on doing the HIIT 20 workout tonight along with some upper body work afterwards. I'm really looking forward to it! I will definitely have to incorporate Turbo Fire workouts into my regular routine.
That's all for now! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and I'll see you back here tomorrow!
