My Snowy Weekend

Posted Feb 10 2013 8:15pm

Good evening everyone! How was your weekend? If you’re in the Northeast, like me, I hope you made it out OK after Nemo ravaged its way through. David and I got about 25” and thankfully did not lose power.

Friday

The morning commute was pretty easy, since there was almost no one headed in to Boston.

This lot is usually completely full by the time I got there around 6:30AM. There were only 6 people at the platform, where there’s usually about 2 dozen.

Work ended up being very busy for me. Since a lot of the residential concierge were stuck in the city (the MBTA shut down all modes of transportation for Friday after 3:30PM and all day Saturday) I had to book them hotel rooms, so that took up a lot of my morning. I was able to catch the 1:15 train home and pulled in to my driveway by 2:45. That whole night David and I watched Gold Rush and drank some beers.

Saturday

This ENTIRE day was spent inside. Well, except for the couple of hours we spent digging our cars out. Thankfully our neighbors brother came by again and plowed the long part of the driveway and we shoveled the cars out.

I also swept the whole house, cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom. My dad joked “what else did you do the other 23 hours and 45 minutes?” Smile with tongue out Ha-HA!

Oh! Guess what went up before all the snow fell?

OUR SOLAR PANELS!!!! In about a month, National Grid should be able to switch over the power and we’ll be producing our own electricity. So. Excited.

Sunday

Today David and I were finally able to get out of the house. He went to Army drill and I spent a long overdue afternoon with my mom. We went to lunch at the 99 and did some shopping at the Wrentham Outlets. Banana Republic was having a HUGE sale, but I managed to only leave with 2 shirts. I could have done a lot of damage if I was there longer. I also found a pair of pants at J. Crew.

Since graduating college, I’ve only really worn uniforms for my job so it’s nice to finally have a fun, colorful wardrobe.

And, to go along with all of the “new-ness” going around, I also cut my hair! It was getting ratty at the end and was getting caught in the zipper of my jacket. So I had a few inches taken off.

Muuuch better. Smile

This evening I also went grocery shopping, and right now, David and I are relaxing and watching some Walking Dead. Back to work tomorrow!

How was your weekend? Are you digging out from the blizzard?
