As I mentioned here ( http://www.lovehealthyliving.net/2009/06/my-photos.html ), I want to improve my digital photography skills. Well, I finally got a new camera to help me out in that process! I turned in my 6 1/2 year old Minolta and got a Canon PowerShot SX200 IS. If you want to know, I got it at Costco and I think I got a pretty good price compared to some online stores I looked at. It's not an SLR-type, but it seems pretty powerful for a point and shoot. I took some photos this morning at my local farmer's market and then at home. The point of all this is that you can (hopefully) look forward to more appealing, or should I say appetizing, food shots (always with a few cat shots thrown in for good measure).
It was nice and sunny this morning.
The farmer who sells these watermelons uses a "dry-farm" technique which means he doesn't water them. They are the most delicious watermelons I've ever eaten. My husband described them as like eating cotton candy.
My attempt at being artistic with the melon.
The camera lens must smell interesting because my cat likes to get really close.
