The weather has been so gloomy here this week in Charlotte.  It has rained pretty much every single day.

I actually really love when the weather is like this though.  To me, it is just so cozy, and it always puts me in the mood to drink hot chocolate, clean (yes, I’m a weirdo), and catch up on reading blogs and magazines.

These past few days, I’ve actually been flipping back through some of my favorite health and diet books.  I flagged a ton of recipes that I cannot wait to try out- especially some new juice combinations.

I thought that you all might enjoy having a little look at some of the health books in my collection.  As a health coach, I need to be familiar with many different approaches, so I have quite a lot of these books (and even some more on my Kindle).

French Women Don’t Get Fat by Mireille Guiliano (I really love a lot of the principles in this book and would recommend it.)

The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone (Definitely interesting if you are vegan or thinking about going vegan, but a lot of the ingredients she uses are obscure.  Here’s a post I did about it awhile back.)

The Flexitarian Diet by Dawn Jackson Blatner (I actually met her at the Healthy Living Summit in 2011.)

Naturally Thin by Bethenny Frankel (Love her “everything in moderation” mentality)

You: The Owner’s Manual by Mehmet Oz (aka Dr. Oz) and Michael F. Roizen

The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder (I’ve definitely raved about this book in the past.  I love Kimberly!)

Detox 4 Women by Natalia Rose (not my favorite book by Natalia to be honest)

The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose (Great information about food combining in here.)

Carrots ‘n Cake by Tina Haupert  (My copy is signed by Tina. :) )

Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch  (A must-read if you want to learn how to listen to your body and pay attention to your natural hunger cues.)

The Doctors Book of Food Remedies by Selene Yeager (I call this my food bible.  Fantastic book!)

What health and diet books would you recommend?  I’m always up for reading a new one!

  1. I am going to check out Intuitive Eating – sounds like what I have been looking for. I have put the scale aside from October 2012 to June 2013, so I can listen to my body in how I feel for a change of pace. Thanks for sharing these reads – Take Care:)
