One of the perks of being in Florida is its relaxing atmosphere. It simply is one of the best places to be in, and its warm climate feels good in the skin, especially if you’re from one of the colder states (but don’t forget your sunblock!). The beaches are absolutely awesome, and to me, nothing beats the feel of the waves sweeping at your feet.
I enjoy the various fairs and festivals that happen every once in a while here, too. There are around 650 events scheduled to happen in this year alone all over the state. Just look hard enough and you’ll most definitely find an event for that date. But make sure first. Go online and browse through sites that keep track of the list of dates for these events. You’ll be sure to save a lot of time by doing that.
There are plenty of things to do, once you’re there. But for me, walking around and just taking in the local scenery and the various items people sell is a relaxing activity in itself. A lot of artists like to set up stalls and booths here to sell what they’ve made. You’ll see a lot of jewelry, hand-carved trinkets, and the like. Some even have bags they designed themselves. A girl could spend a lot of time just looking at things here and of course, shopping. Just mind your wallet.
For the adventurous type, food is something that may be of interest, as fairs will most likely have a very wide assortment of different delicacies. There will be the fair standards such as burgers, fries and cotton candy, but there will definitely be not a few stalls that sell exotic and strange food (pork rind, anyone?). Depending on your courage, you will sample a lot of delicious foodstuffs.
So get up and go! Have a look around Florida Fairs and Festivals, and check the date of the next upcoming fair!
