Muddy Buddy 2012

Posted Feb 15 2012 3:51pm

Danny and I are officially signed up for the MuddyBuddy Race in July! The Muddy Buddy is a two person race where each person switches between running and biking for a total of 6 to 7 miles, with obstacles in between. You meet up at the end and go through a giant mud pit together. It’s a lot of fun!

The Muddy Buddy was my first ever competitive race. I did it with Marlene in 2009. I also did the Muddy Buddy in 2010 with Danny. We weren’t able to go the race in 2011, but we’ll be there for 2012!

Here’s a few pics from the 2009 Muddy Buddy.

Jaden was just a baby – isn’t he so cute!

Always make sure that you give the spectators a big hug. Especially if they’re smart enough to wear white.

Jacob did the mini muddy buddy that year.

Here’s a few pics from the 2010 Muddy Buddy. Marlene did it with her friend, Katie, and my brother and sister-in-law also did it. (And it was their first wedding anniversary!)

My dad and step-mom created Marlene and Katie’s pink flamingo costumes.

Both Jaden and Jacob did the mini Muddy Buddy that year. They might look happy, but they both hated it. They don’t like getting muddy apparently.

This race is always so much fun, and I can’t wait to do it this year. I am not a very good distance runner, so I like how this race is only about a mile of running at a time.

Today’s Workout

  • BodyPump
  • 17 minutes elliptical

Before I did BodyPump today, I made sure to talk to the instructor about the stitches in my shoulder. She said that as long as I did really light weights and took it easy on the shoulder track, then I should be fine.

It went fine. If my shoulder started to bother me at all, I just slowed down. Plus, I used at least half less of the weight I normally use. I finished up my workout with 17 minutes on the elliptical.

I found the one picture that I actually have of the mole on my shoulder, and I thought I’d share it. Okay, okay, I actually just like this picture of myself. I felt like a badass for getting a fake tattoo…in Downtown Disney. I’m awesome.

As I finished up writing this post, the doctor’s office called and said that my mole biopsy came back benign – nothing to worry about. Yay! Now can you put my cutie mole back please?

Questions of the Day:

  • Do you have races coming up?
  • What’s your favorite race that you’ve done?
