Mountain Goats and (Seasonal?) Hot Cocoa Ice Cream
Posted Sep 11 2009 4:54pm
Weird title, huh? Haha, it's been another crazy day. It feels like 3 days rolled into 1! I actually had to think pretty hard to remember what happened this morning. But I woke up at 6:20 am and made a quick pumpkin greek yogurt combo:
Greek yogurt Pumpkin Banana slices Cinnamon Pumpkin pie spice Vanilla Galaxy Granola White Chocolate Wonderful pb
It was delicious. I slammed some nas-tay hotel coffee and my mom and I hit the road. We went to Target to get some more apartment essentials. It was already scorching hot at 7:30 in the morning! Crazy.
After Target, we went back to my old apartment to do my walk-through and officially check out. I'm so glad to be out of there! We went back to my old place, set up more furniture and stuff, and then had lunch. I had a salad with a gardenburger portobello veggie burger patty:
It was pretty good, but I don't think I'll buy these patties again. I was just using them up from last semester.
I had some green beans with ICBINB spray and black pepper:
So yummy :)
I also had a little bowl of ice cream to help beat the heat! This was a Hot Cocoa limited edition flavor.
Don't ask me why they have this flavor now --it's not even Fall! But ya gotta play with the cards you're dealt. So I went all-out Christmas style and added whipped cream, cinnamon, and christmas peppermint sprinkles.
Delicious! The ice cream had little yummy marshmallows in it--I wish there were more, though. I pretended it was December and freezing outside, instead of 110+!
Then we went out and I test-drove a car. Since I'm planning on moving the harp around, I need a minivan. So we're looking at a Toyota Sienna. It was alright, but my dad has to do all these checkups on it. And we may go look at another one, too.
Hmm, after that? Oh, we went back to my apartment and I had some frozen santa claus melon and reddiwhip x2
Frozen grapes, too:
Lots more! My mom and I then went to Bed Bath & Beyond, and then a local grocery store called Sunflower Market. I'd never been before, and I was so excited! We couldn't stay as long as I would have liked, but I found Naturally More peanut butter!!! I completely freaked out and probably scared the guy next to me. I've been looking for this pb for over a year! I'm so excited to try it :D
Dinner was another salad with black grapes and goat cheese.:
I also had another melon dessert, cause I love em that much.
After dinner we went back to the hotel. My sister, Katherine, and I hit up the teeny tiny hotel gym. It was pretty boring at first, and we were the only ones in there. I was on the one and only ancient elliptical, and my sister was on the recumbant bike. But then I decided to make it fun by singing along to my music, and I started dancing it up while on the elliptical. My sis joined in a bit, too :D
It was so fun! Definitely made the time fly by. And no one ever did come into the gym the whole time we were there--and if they wanted to, I might have scared them away! But I only saw like, 2 people walk past the 60 minutes I was on the machine. After the elliptical, I put my sis through a mini boot camp (she requested it!) with lots of foucs on the arms and a little bit of ab work. And now we're all back!
Oh, my sister has a question for you:
Q: Have you ever heard of a band called "The Mountain Goats?"
She's curious to know if you've heard of them. She likes a lot of Indie music, and it's one of her top bands. We were talking about the difference between mountain goats and billy goats today. Mountain goats are soooo much cuter! I've decided I want to get one as a pet and keep it in my apartment in Arizona. I'd name him Jasper, and he'd be super awesome. I'd probably have to keep the AC blasted all the time, though. This is what Jasper would look like:
Isn't he supa fly???? I just want to pet him.
Alright guys, hope you're having an awesome weekend! I've still got a lot more stuff to do before I come home on the 28th. I'm also probably a lil sleep deprived if ya can't tell ;) Night, everyone!
