"Morning"

Posted Nov 27 2008 10:57am

From the East comes the sun,
Bringing a new and unspoiled day.
It has already circled the Earth and
Looked upon distant lands and
Far-away peoples.

It has passed over mountain ranges and
The waters of the seven seas.
It has shown upon laborers in the fields,
Into the windows of homes,
And shops, and factories.

It has beheld cities with gleaming towers,
And also the hovels of the poor.
It has been witness to both good and evil,
The works of honest men and women and
The conspiracy of knaves.

It has seen marching armies, bomb-blasted villages
And "the destruction that wasteth at noonday."
Now, unsullied from its tireless journey,
It comes to us,
Messenger of the morning.
Harbinger of a new day.

Clinton Lee Scott

All the pictures except the second one were taken at the Grand River in Waterloo Region in the month of October. Before we changed to standard time, the sun was just rising as I drove into work each day and even if the day ended up cloudy and dull, the morning skies were spectacular. The second photo was taken last week in Mexico by my husband sometime after 6 AM as they went out to the desert.

Each new day is a gift, a new start,
a time to be thankful for life and love.
A Happy Thanksgiving
to all my American friends.
May your day be blessed!

I would like to share the best Thanksgiving post I have read this week. Follow this link to Mountain Musings. You never know what joy a new day will bring.
