This past weekend was spent relaxing, running, swimming, and sleeping in Michigan. Even though our little vacation was only an hour and a half away from Chicago it feels like worlds away. You cross the state lines and everything changes. It was the perfect time away I needed to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Needless to say, Moose had a great time too!
We tried to recreate a previous photo but Moose was a little irritated by the photo taking today.
While in Michigan I got in some good training runs. In Chicago I have a really good grasp of distance. I know my mile markers and a general rule of thumb is; every 8 blocks is a mile. When I am in a new city or place I map out my run on m apmyrun before heading out and try to hit the turnout in the time I'm aiming for. Sometimes not having a gage on how far things are you end up running just a little too fast or a little too far.
Heading into the week after a long weekend off can be a struggle getting back to reality. We are taking our time heading back to the city tonight, trying to keep the relaxed vacation mindset going. In attempt to stay relaxed I am planning my meals, workouts, and errand running schedule out today to ward off feelings of being overwhelmed in a busy week ahead.
Workout Plan for the Week: Monday: 5 mile run Tuesday: Teach Bootcamp Wednesday: tempo run Thursday: Teach Bootcamp and Pilates Friday: Hot Vinyasa Yoga Saturday: 10 mile run Sunday: Teach Bootcamp in the park for Bright Pink
I am personally inviting all of you (Chicago readers) to attend a bootcamp class I will be teaching in Hamlin Park in the Roscoe Village neighborhood on Sunday, July 14th from 9:30-11am. It will be a fun, heart pumping, sweat-filled session. The class is a donation based class, fundraising for the Bright Pink FabFest. If you have any questions or would like more information, leave a comment or shoot me an email. Hope to see you there!
