Moose Mug. Spring has arrived Chicago!

Posted Apr 28 2013 8:49pm

So happy and tired after a good romp.  Nothing better than two tired pups.

A typical boy-girl relationship, she wants more and he's over it.

Spring finally seems to have arrived!  I think we might have made the turn and the days of 30 degree weather are gone for awhile.  I ran in shorts today and felt almost naked in comparison to the layers upon layers I have been wearing for the past 6 months or so.

My parents arrived here on Thursday evening and Moose could not have been happier, she loves everyone but especially my mom.  Saturday morning we woke up to amazing weather and headed out on a long walk while the boys played tennis, I am so lucky I have parents who enjoy being active as much as we do!
When you live in a city for a long time you often forget how much it has to offer.  We headed to the lakefront and walked the park, stopped at the bridge where were got engaged, strolled through the zoo and the beautiful but very warm conservatory.  Chicago has so much to offer when it's nice out!  We even used our grill this weekend...everything tastes better on the grill in my opinion.

Mom and I on the bridge in Lincoln Park where Ryan proposed.

My dad asked the classic question,

My dad asked the classic question, "Are they black with white stripes or white with black stripes?"  What do you think?

Moose did not want her Grandma to leave!

This morning was a big success in my road to recovery from my stress fracture, I was able to run 7 miles straight without pain and in my normal training pace!  It lifted my spirits and my outlook towards my training for a few races over the summer. Coming back from my foot injury has led to a few other aches and pains and it has been challenging not to get frustrated and to remember to listen to my body.  I have one more month to get my endurance back up before I start more serious and rigorous training.  I am super excited to have a couple of races on the calendar and to start setting a few goals.

Do you have any races or fitness goals set for the summer?
