{Monday Motivation} When In Doubt, WORK OUT!

Posted Aug 20 2012 1:29pm

Happy Monday to all!

There is nothing quite like a productive morning to start the week off strong and lift my spirits. {{AND I ATTRIBUTE IT ALL TO LAST NIGHT’S LEG DAY WOROUT… READ ON!!!}}  I have been working hard here in my Starbucks offices for a few hours now. ;)  Okay, so I obviously come here too often… they know me by name now.  Nonetheless, I am completely and utterly flattered by this display of customer service.  Now, they just need to memorize my order and we’ll be golden.  I got my usual–Venti Iced Coffee with sugar-free syrup and soy milk.  Today, I opted for the caramel syrup.  I’m thinking Mocha for my refill?!

Anyways, I have been working hard to talk my to-do list.  I have been down and out the last few days, and my forever long and intimidating to-do list was the top of my stressors.  But, I am slowly but surely crossing things off, one by one.  I have realized that when the list piles high, all you can do is take a deep breath and begin.  You do not and will not make progress until you just start.

I recently entered a Chobani giveaway over on Oh, Bite It!’s blog. .. and I was announced as the winner this morning!  She is sending a HUGE case of 160z CHO tubs my way.  I am SO happy!  I can already foresee all the goodies, treats, and EATS that I will be creating with THAT!

Not to mention, she gave me the sweetest shout out on her VERY popular blog…

I haven’t decided what is better: winning all this CHO or reading her endearing comments about me and my blog.  It’s words of encouragement like this that remind me WHY I blog in the first place.  Check out Oh, Bite It! for amazing recipes.  She is seriously one awesome chef, and one amazing blogger.  Won’t you show her some love?! Tell her Savvy Sassy Me sent you!

I had to work throughout the day yesterday, but following my workout–it was grocery shopping time!  Yes, I get excited about this.  Judge me.  First and foremost, I bought the day’s newspaper and clipped coupons.  I added them to my coupon BINDER (yes, binder) and headed out.  I got quite the loot.  Basically all produce–naturally. :)  I also got a few things that I will be reviewing and giving away on the blog here soon–stay posted for that!

Eating Clean Groceries

For dinner, I roasted some of the fresh veggies– and paired it with Panko-breaded chicken and quinoa. It was yummy and I made two helpings, so THIS GIRL has lunch soon as well.

Yesterday evening, I was so tired.  I thought about just calling it a night (even though I hadn’t worked out all day).  Instead, I made a better choice.  What better time than a completely unmotivated Sunday evening to bust on an intense LEG DAY, right?!

I fully attribute the newly found leg muscles to LEG DAYS.

Squats. Lunges. Deadlifts. REPEAT.

Sure, there is a bit more to it. But in all honestly, that is the gist of it all.  It’s really quite simple.

Squats. Lunges. Deadlifts. REPEAT.

When in doubt, WORK OUT!  I have found exercise to be the answer to everything.

Amongst the obvious health benefits (and muscles), working out:

  • Gives me a post-workout high.
  • Makes me feel self confident.
  • Clears my mind.
  • Puts me in a good mood.
  • Allows me to be more productive because I FEEL better.

So, there you go.  All of the happiness and productivity–fueled by a late night LEG DAY, and a spur-of-the-moment workout.  When in doubt, WORK OUT!
