(not to be mistaken with Who-ville , which sounds like a much nicer place to be right now)
Yep, I’m still sick over here.
And rather thansuffer through another clove of raw garlic this morning (which, by the way, left we with dragon breath for the rest of the day… gross. Good thing Austin wasn’t planning on kissing me anyway. )
I decided to take another route–
Homemade vegetable broth!
I chopped up a few cloves of garlic and a whole onion, and sauteed them in a bit of coconut oil (coconut oil is also known for being anti-viral ), then covered them in filtered water:
I also threw in whatever veggies I had in the fridge, which included organic carrots (just the skins– I’m saving the rest for juicing!), and green chard leaves:
You could really use any veggies you have on hand– celery would have been nice, but it’s not something I commonly have in my fridge. (and grocery shopping isn’t an option for me right now!)
Simply let all theveggies simmer in a covered pot at low heat for about an hour:
I added a kick of cayenne and Turmeric, since they’re both known for their healingbenefits , too.
(and after all, I can’t taste a thing!)
When the cooking time is up, strain the veggies out, and enjoy the broth to your heart’s tummy’s content! I added a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to my mug, for some extra alkalizing-benefits:
Mmm, mmm…. good? I don’t know. I couldn’t really say, considering I can’t taste a thing!
But after sipping on this all morning, I am starting to feel slightly better. If any of you are feeling under the weather (it seems to be going around lately), I highly recommend making some broth!
