Stress. Just typing the word alone triggers unwanted to-do lists and marathon nights of homework. Over and over again, studies and articles try to tell college students how to relieve stress. Yet, it’s not so simple to breathe when you’ve got 10 minutes to bust your butt to class and hand in your first paper. Fortunately, the Counseling Center down on Walnut Avenue now offers a non-credit course to relieve stress not just for the semester, but for your life!

The course is called Mindfulness: Stress Reduction Based Program and it aims at exactly that, mindfulness. The program, which first started in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, boasts to improve one’s concentration, have the ability to manage pain from illness and to be able to maintain a greater emotional balance.
