Yesterday was pretty rough. Strep throat has confined me to my couch so I couldn’t do my annual hike like I so badly wanted. I did watch the names being read, however. Overall it was an extremely emotional day and it made me so grateful for all that I have; for life and loved ones.
I chose this mantra because I though it was appropriate with yesterday’s sentiment. It comes from one of my favorite songs, “Let Your Troubles Roll By”, by Carbon Leaf. It’s so easy to fall into a negative place of “I should have done this” or “if only this had happened”. But not only can the past not be changed, we shouldn’t want to change it, because experiences, negative or positive, only shape who we are and allow us to truly learn about ourselves and what we’re capable of. Dwelling on the past is unhealthy. Instead, let’s be content with the present and look to the future with our lessons learned in our back pockets.
I’m off to California for a visit on Thursday! Sooo excited, and hopefully feeling better by then. Other than that, a few recipes on the way and since our show is over for Fashion Week, it should be a good week to walk around the city and get some good photos and maybe peek into some shops. Peace and love!
