Let thing lie - Mantra of the Week

We live in a culture of instant gratification. With the existence of cell phones, email, and every form of social media one could possible imagine, it’s so easy to become obsessed with quick communication –and answers. I’ve fallen victim to this lately; becoming a slave to my email and phone, and getting frustrated when I don’t get responses within a certain number of minutes. This also trickles into the “real,” non-technology driven aspects of my life, and my patience is completely shot.

There is so much going on right now that is completely out of my control. It’s easy, especially during a time of uncertainty, to want answers, right there and then. Instead, I’m going to try over the next couple of weeks (months? years?) to focus on and give my all to the things that I can actually have a hand in and let everything else be. Then I know that I will have done all that I could possibly do, and if everything doesn’t subsequently fall into place, then it simply wasn’t meant to be.

That being said, I’m going to have to let things lie around here for the next week, or maybe two. I’m trying to tie up a bunch of loose ends before I head into the school year (my last semester, ever!) and would rather post when I can post actual stuff rather than BS. Please check back soon, though: the upcoming line up includes brewing kombucha (!), my experience/recipes for going shampoo free, and, eventually, some NYC/Brooklyn city guides, which I’m stupid excited about. In the mean time, you can stick with some [slightly] more frequent updates on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
