Mango Banana Vanilla Softserve, Personal Trainer Announcement, New Tab, Always Goals

Hi Friends, How's it Going? I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you made it through Monday a-okay. What did you do over the weekend? I worked out, a lot.This training for fitness competitions thing is not a joke! And my abs have not been this sore since natural childbirth! But the training and time I'm spending in the gym is rewarding and fun to me. If it wasn't fun, I wouldn't do it. Life is too short and there are too many things we feel we "have to" do like getting the oil changed in your car, cleaning the toilets, going to the dentist , so in my "free time" one of my goals is to only pursue things that are interesting, exciting, fun, and fulfilling. What would be the point to spend time doing something that wasn't fun or fulfilling, ya know?
So I have a Little News For You Today... Remember This Post last week when I announced the completion of my 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training ? And I also Mentioned some ofMy Goals . In that post, I didn't mention my newest "project", but I am definitely the type of person that when I finish one big thing, like my 500 Hour Yoga Training, I need to have a something else to work on.
....Which brings me to announce my latest endeavor: I am studying to become a personal trainer! Remember This Post when I solicited opinions from you all about if you've ever trained with a trainerand also asked any readers who are trainersto chime in with info...well, I had a plan.
See, I've actually been toying with the idea of getting my Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential for years. Naomi , Susan , Jessica , Erica , Alyson , Morgan, among others have given me their experiences and insights into it all and thank you awesome ladies so very much!
The factors that previously held me back from being a CPT were: 1. I don't really plan to "train" anyone; rather I plan to use this to supplement my yoga knowledge and for my own "personal use"rather than seeking employment as a trainer. I didn't want to pursue something that was "meaningless", but I realized knowledge is power, and anything I learn, can and will come in handy at some point in life. Not to mention, it could actually help me pay some bills because between my yoga, and my ACE, and my raw/vegan knowledge, maybe someone will need my help and information and want pay me for it rather than just giving it away for free...ha!
2. After 10 years of yoga and a holistic approach to life in general, I previously worried that all the CPT programs were too "meathead" and not enough "earth mama" for me and my approach to life and to exercise. However, now that this Earth Mama is hanging out with the Meatheads and training for fitness competitions, there's no time like the present to embrace any and all additional knowledge about trainingas it will surely come in handy for my own fitness endeavors! Move over Meatheads, Earth Mama is Pumping Iron next to you and could be your next trainer! haha!
I plan to do it self-study like I did my California Real Estate License, much of my Graduate Work in Psychology, my work in Human Lactation, and also my Yoga. I am an independent learner and so I plan to soak up all the info in these books and CD's and then just take the test!
I hope all my undergraduate psychology and biology classes come back to me. Applied Anatomy & Physio. Whoa. I think I lost a few brain cells in parenthood!
I'm glad you enjoyed the Highlights of the Week Post from Yesterday. You may or may not have noticed a difference in it. I cut down the commentary and amount of links and pictures a bit and it was a faster for me to do, but hopefully it didn't effect read-ability.
In the Mail Today I Received some Brad's Raw Chips Love that they're Raw, Vegan & Gluten Free And they're made with Seeds & Buckwheat Groats and not with processed wheat flour. Awesome! And it's wonderful that Sodium, Garlic, and Onions don't seem to be "key ingredients" because for the regular readers, you know I am not a fan of those items. Just my personal taste preferences.
I love raw kale and brock. Makes me happy to have the crunch factor. I hate mushy veggies!
Dessert wasa New Recipe! Averie's High Raw Vegan Mango Banana Vanilla Softserve 1.5 Cups Frozen Mango Chunks 1 Frozen medium Banana (freeze in chunks)
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract Optional: Splash of Water or Nut Milk only if needed for blendability/smoothness 1/4 c white sugar (I don't fear sugar and these mango were too tart to be considered "dessert" so they got sugared up) or Use Agave, Stevia, Lucama, Yacon, Maple, etc To Taste or Omit Entirely 1-2 Scoops of Protein Powder
Combine all Ingredients Tiny splash of water Blend Serve & Enjoy! If you don't eat it all immediately after making it, you can freeze it and eat later without taste/texture being effected too much. I make extra on purpose because as long as I am cleaning the Vita , may as well make a little more than I need in one sitting.
And of course Scott and Skylar never say no to homemade softserve!

Yoga Today is Parsvottanasana (Intense Side Angle Stretch) And Parivrtta Trikonasana (Revolved Triangle) Both of these asanas are great for opening up the hips, hamstrings, and lower back. Runners especially, take note.Many people are tight in the hips, hamstrings, or lower back, so most everyone can benefit from these poses. In our bodies, everything is connected and when one aspect is tight or out of balance, it affects other things, which forces the body to compensate, which can lead to injury. So stay loose, open things up, stretch it out!
This is the Community Center Gym I mentioned yesterday that I totally forgot existed ! Here was my Full Body Workout that I didToday I did 3 sets of 12-15 Reps EachSquats with a Barbell On My Back (no true Smith Machine in This Gym) Bent Over Barbell Rows Stiff Leg Deads super setted with Seated Calf Raises (free weight on thigh) Incline DB Press super setted with Lunges (Pulse Lunges he calls them, I just call them a lunge while holding a DB) Standing Military Press super setted with Abduction leg lifts (for the outer thigh while holding a DB) I went for a 2.5 mile run, to keep my cardio going. And I always do 20-30 mins of yoga stretching, abs/crunches, daily. I did this before I was training for fitness competitions , too.

Questions 1. Best Thing You Ate or Did All Weekend? I worked out a ton and spent lots of time with my family!Some people would not see either of those things as "fun", but I did! haha! As for eating, the Mango Banana Vanilla Softserve was great but I really love my raw green veggie bowls. Remember this post , I really do crave healthy foods !
2. Do you make Softserve or Smoothies? What are your favorite ingredients to include? Frozen bananas are so incredibly versatile that I use lots of them! I could say I just love green monsters. I mean, they're fine. I do love kale but I prefer to chew it not drink it but I know there are some green monster lovers in the house.But how about trying...

3. Do You Need to Have Projects & Goals Lined Up, Items On a Mental Checklist that you're Working Towards and Checking Off Your List? Or, do like to take some time in between bigger projects in life and "come up for air" before you start the next thing? I am definitely the former which is not a badge of honor per se. Sometimes I wish I could be more laidback, but I love keeping busy so there's always something on tap for me!Are you Always Onto the Next Thing, Goal, and Project or Not?
