Yesterday for dinner, I made a pasta and veggie bowl. I used to make a lot of baked pasta with cheese on top, but lately I’ve been making pasta bowls. This way I can use less pasta and add veggies which means it’s still full of volume. Plus, it’s a great way to get more veggies in my diet.
We eat together as a family every night. It’s the only meal when we’re all home at the same time, so we make sure to eat it together.
For breakfast this morning, I had two Kashi blueberry waffles with peanut butter and a clementine. I can’t wait until these waffles are gone so that I can buy the Van’s blueberry waffles, which I like so much better.
During breakfast, I was reading the new Runner’s World magazine and they had an article on BodyPump and how it is good for runners.
I don’t know why because I don’t actually like to read the articles, just look at the pictures. Just kidding. BodyPump improves upper body strength which leads to better form while running.
Walked 2.35 miles on the treadmill
10 minutes stretching
This morning, I went to the gym when Jaden was at sports class. My legs are kind of tired, so I just wanted to do a nice and easy workout. I walked for about 35 minutes on the treadmill and finished up with some stretching.
After my workout, I ate a thinkThin crunch fruit and nut bar that the company sent me.
I love the thinkThin crunch bars, but I have never had the fruit and nut bar. I loved it. I had the blueberry and mixed nuts bar, and it’s definitely one of my new favorite bars. And it packs 8 grams of protein.

I have had a problem with buying groceries lately. First, I bought two cans of pork gravy thinking it was chicken gravy. Then I bought crunchy peanut butter thinking it was creamy. I do not like crunchy peanut butter. It’s too…chunky.
After the gym, I stopped at the store to pick up some creamy peanut butter and burgers and fish for dinner. (I actually forgot to buy the peanut butter and had to go back in.) The fish counter was closed down for some reason, so I bought some frozen fish to try.
I thought I was buying potato crusted tilapia, but it turned out to be potato crusted cod. What the fudge is my problem lately? I didn’t want stupid cod, I wanted tilapia. I suppose I could go to the store and return it, but that would take effort on my part. I guess I’ll just try the stupid cod.
I also picked up some wild salmon. Thank goodness it was still salmon when we got home and didn’t change itself in the car on the way home like the tilapia cod did.
Jaden also picked out these cookies, not even realizing that they’re “healthy” cookies. Maybe because he can’t read?!
They’re WhoNu cookies. 0g trans fat and no hydrogenated oils. 2g protein and 3g fiber. And only 150 calories for three cookies. I took a bite of Jaden’s cookies, and they’re pretty darn good. Soft and chewy.
Questions of the day:
Do you eat meals together as a family?
Do you like crunchy or creamy peanut butter?
Is cod good?
