Everybody (and their luggage) made it safe and sound to the states and now we’re all digesting the delicious eats. The French cousins have gone to bed because jet-lag is awful, but us Americans are still awake and watching basketball. Typical.
When they arrived, the girls and I started our egg dyeing project. They’ve never done it before!! Marie is 17 and Pauline is 14.
Dyeing eggs with Marie & Pauline
My masterpieces/failures... I made Harris a hot pink one!
Then we took a break from the eggs and did a family photo-shoot. Uncle Benoit was taking a nap and missed the festivities!
Aunt Joelle, Pauline, Marie, me, and my Aunt Josette (whose house I'm at)
My Uncle Chuck (my dad's brother) and me... see the family resemblance? We definitely have the same eyes, just like my Daddy!
After that it was time to eat, naturally. My aunt made an AMAZING roasted vegetable & polenta tart, which will be up on my recipes page soon, I promise! It was just too good, perfect for vegetarians & non-vegetarians alike!
Roasted Vegetable & Polenta Tart
Salad with a slice of the tart (I had a tiny bit more, plus some unpictured bread)
And a small bit of wine was consumed (this x2)
And after a couple glasses of wine, another photo shoot (obviously just my uncle and I, the kids have no excuse)
Oh and then dessert…
Pear, apple, and cranberry crumble
Amazing mint chocolate French pastry thing brought straight from France to my mouth
And now I am going to bed! Back tomorrow with our Easter egg hunt
