Lovea Bio Argan Protective Body Oil and Alva COLEUR Makeup Organic Fluid Foundation

Posted Dec 24 2010 6:31am
Hello all, and welcome to my last two product reviews of 2010! This is my final My Pure blogger review parcel of the year and I went for a body oil and a foundation. First up, the Alva Coleur Makeup Organic Fluid Foundation
Here's the blurb
"Alva Organic Coleur Fluid Foundation glides on the skin with a matt finish to smooth out irregularities and redness leaving a soft, smooth complexion. The Fluid Foundation colours are matched with the Concealer Stick and Baked Powder Foundation colours. (01 light | 02 medium) This Fluid Foundation keeps skin nourished with Wellmune, natural vitamin E, red grapevine extract and evening primrose oil.
Alva COLEUR is an exciting new range of certified organic make up and cosmetics made by Alva Naturkosmetik in Osnabrück, Germany. Alva was established in 1988 and is now one of Europe's leading natural skin care brands.

Alva COLEUR entices with its modern natural tones, young fresh feel and innovative natural ingredients. The entire range is certified organic by EcoCert®, its also vegan, talc-free and carmine-free.

What makes COLEUR truly unique amongst all other natural and organic make-up brands is that all products contain Wellmune®, a patented beta glucan that primes the immune system – this makes COLEUR make-up suitable for those who may be prone to eczema, dermatitis and other sensitive skin conditions. Wellmune® also has anti-ageing benefits."

My first impressions, even though I choose 'light', the colour looked rather dark and a bit unnatural, but upon application did blend it well and the colour match is good. The texture is very runny and not what I'm used to as a normally use a mousse foundation. The texture became matte very quickly so it became harder to spread on the face (I have since perfected the application and started to apply small amounts quickly rather than a larger amount all at once that became difficult to work with)
To be honest, the first time I used this, I actually hated it! I thought the coverage was far too light, it didn't cover blemishes or dark circles and I ended up having to apply more of the product and was left looking like a wax work! But, having learnt to use it bit by bit, the foundation is much easier to work with and I can build up the coverage without my fave looking completely space-aged. I still prefer my normal mousse foundation so won't be purchasing this. It can be bought at My Pure for £18.40 for 30ml, which is definitely the high end category for a foundation.

My second item, another gorgeous Lovea Bio product, the Argan Protective Body Oil
"Lovea Bio Protective Body Oil with Argan is a non greasy spray formulated to revitalise and rehydrate the skin. Best applied onto towel dry skin straight after bathing or showering. Absorbs quickly leaving the skin silky soft and smooth. Deliciously sweet fragrance.
Lovea undertakes to respect people and the environment at every stage in the design and production of its products, and to offer you certified organic products that combine affordability and pleasure."

After tying so many products by Lovea this year thanks to My Pure, it has fast become one of my favorite beauty brands. I have tried shampoo, body scrubs and moisturisers and now this lovely body oil, and on the whole have loved them all.

I really enjoy using body oils, especially in winter as they are so warming on the skin. And I love how oils give the skin continuous moisture all throughout the day or night for hours after application, a real skin treat!
The texture of this product is exactly like regular baby oil but is dispensed with a handy spray so it doesn't go all over the place. It left my skin feeling super moisturised and comfortable and covered in that wondered tropical Lovea scent that I'm crazy about! The fragrance is even more noticeable in oil form and it really is one of the best beauty product scents out there, I love it! This is available for £7.99 for 125ml from My Pure, which if you compare it with the price of regular baby oil is quite a bit more expensive, but it is a lovely product so a good thing to do for if you're looking to treat yourself.

I have had so much fun trying and reviewing a huge range of products and items for the blog this year and hope you've all enjoyed reading them. Fingers crossed there will be lots more in 2011!

P.S OMG, it's Christmas Eve!! Are you excited?
