As the day of giving thanks approaches I keep seeing tons of people post things on Facebook, twitter, instagram, and every other social media outlet expressing the thanks they have for things in life we often take for granted. I love this so much because you can’t help but smile when you see statuses about how thankful people are for their friends, family, heat and air systems, grocery stores, everything!
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson
Isn’t that just lovely? I think so too
I hope your day is filled with gratitude and even if things don’t go perfectly, you can remember that it all adds up to the life you have now which (I hope) is something you are grateful for
Yesterday was a great day in lab. I’m just wrapping up all my experiments; I’ve done about 5 different experiments and I need to finish organizing them! I am soooo going to miss the free coffee downstairs though. Yesterday’s was gingerbread and oh my yum!
For lunch I brought a veggie burger with some mixed greens.
Don’t be fooled by my healthy looking lunch. My lab preceptor made a huge birthday cake for his son this past weekend and brought in all the leftovers. I could say I had 2 big slices or 3 small slices… which sounds healthier?
After my cake-stuffed day, naturally I couldn’t let the sugar high stop there so I came home and had some chocolate… and a cookie….
The only healthy thing about yesterday was the 30 minutes on my treadmill and 30 minutes of yoga. At least I was very zen while I ate all that cake
In other news, I’m leaving for Florida tomorrow and check out the AMAZING weather!!! I can’t wait.
And I’m off to lab! Have a great day!
What are you grateful for? Do you meditate? Do you like cake? What’s your favorite kind!!
