Hello! So today’s post will be kind of all over the place.
First, I wanted to share link that is close to my Myth post in regards to “clean eating.” I also could say a lot more about it but I’ll bite my tongue! LOL. Anyway, most “clean eaters” don’t eat things like ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cones, bagels, etc.. but if you think that will make a big difference in your physique it won’t! Check out the people here and their post-workout meals . Like I said, if it fits in your macros your golden! And to explain this I’ll give you an example. If your macros are set at 150-170 grams protein, 200-250 carbs, and 60-80 grams fat (I just came up with this off the top of my head- these are not mine) and say you want a Dairy Queen Dilly Bar. Okay, so that’s 240 calories, 4 grams protein, 24 carbs, and 15 grams fat. So subtract that from your needs- and you still have a lot you can eat. You just have to learn how to work with it! And let me make it clear I am NOT advocating eating junk food all the time.. I’ve seen what bad diets do in my patients and even the cadavers we work on. But moderation is key- a whole diet based on junk is different than one item per day or whatever.
Oh, and a lot of you were questioning about Hip Thrusts ! Oh my gosh, I LOVE this exercise. At first I was shy about doing these but now I don’t care- it’s transforming my butt! I learned about them from The Glute Guy and also Kellie Davis - and now they are a staple. Give them a try! I’ve gotten 2 other girls that I personally know to start doing them and they both really like them too.
And lastly, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite blogs that are similar to mine! I know I’m always looking for blogs similar to my interests and unfortunately there’s not many women lifters out there.. hopefully more will come! Although those who have emailed me and shared their success have been making me so happy… keep them coming!
The Glute Guy as I mentioned before is also great- one of the only trainers that trains women the way they should be trained!
Following Fit is also great- she can lift some heavy weights and has put on a nice amount of muscle!
Sweat and Dirt - she is another lifter and advocates lifting for other women! Oh, and she has a bodybugg and advocates eating like me
Anyway, those are just some of my favorite blogs to read. I do read other ones that are wonderful (and will mention another day!) but there are others that frustrate me! LOL. Most American’s overestimate the calories they need per day.. but the majority of YOU all who are reading this UNDERESTIMATE your calorie needs and are probably eating wayyy too little. Check out this thread ..Just sayin!
