Good afternoon! Did you have a great Labor Day weekend? I hope so!
Friday night the girls decided to surprise me with a lovely birthday dinner since we were all on vacation back in August when I officially left my 20s behind .
They took me to a fabulous restaurant on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill called Elaine’s !

We started off with a champagne toast and a shot of bisque. That’s Anne starting at me through my champagne glass. Love.

My entree was the happiest piece of salmon I’ve ever had. Why? Because it had onion rings on top and sat in a lentil soup bath, of sorts. It was definitely unique and so tasty I devoured the entire thing.

There’s nothing better than quality time with the girls and being treated to a delicious dinner for my birthday! We obviously couldn’t end the night without a funny, candid photo, though… so here we are, breaking it down on the sidewalk outside of the restaurant.

Now before all of the birthday festivities began on Friday, I received an email from Anne asking if I’d be able to “supervise” a trip to DSW , given my success there earlier last week.
I was about to go for a run but couldn’t pass up a little shoe shopping so told her to meet me in 45 minutes. It was HOT but boy did I run fast! Who knew shoe shopping could be a workout motivator?
First things first: We headed straight to the clearance rack and I lined up a bunch of shoes for Anne to try on. She wanted some sexy heels and it was my job as her supervisor to deliver.

After much debate and a few practice runs (well, practice walks), we narrowed them down to a few winners… one of which I loved so much I had to purchase a pair, too! Check out the ones she got !

I think this pair beats last week’s bargain . Anne and I paid just $38 for these shoes which were originally $164! I love a 5″ wedge but I especially love them at 70% off of the sale price!
Well, it’s time to get back to work. We’ve had some scary weather here in Chapel Hill this morning… tornado warnings even sent us to the basement after the University told us to take cover and get away from windows! Hopefully the tornadoes will pipe down for the rest of the afternoon. :/
Have a great rest of your Tuesday!
