I’m trying to be a good girl and keep up with my P90X workouts, even the ones I don’t like. So after a long day of running around I figured a little bit o’ exercise this afternoon would be good. Problem was that today is supposed to be Plyometrics, but I couldn’t find the DVD so I decided to substitute Kenpo X instead.
Anyhow, if you’re not familiar with what Kenpo actually is (since I had never heard of it before P90X myself – I think just maybe they made it up), you can check out some of the moves from the workout on YouTube…
I actually really like this workout because it’s kind of martial arts-like, kind of cardio-like and kind of boxerfit-like. In other words, I feel kind of ‘tough’ when I do this workout because it’s a whole lot of punching and kicking.
Marcus decided to stick around and support me by chewing on my shoe lace…
Anyhow, despite enjoying the workout, I had to modify it a little bit (or Mom-ify it as it seems), as follows:
Low Squat Stance – couldn’t really squat very low because I had to accommodate Marcus running between my legs
Jumping Jacks – instead of swinging my arms up and down, I had to support the old milkers, so my jumping jacks became more of a lower body move only
Running in place – not really ‘in place’ tonight because I had to chase Marcus around the room to keep him entertained!
Front kicks – these lovingly became ‘hand slaps’ because Marcus decided to stand right in front of me during this move so instead of kicking, I reached in and gave him a hand slap on each rep.
Anyhow, it was a good workout. I’m sweaty. I’m pooped. Guess I wore Marcus out too…
Day Two complete! Good news is I’m already down 4 lbs. I’m pretty sure that is just daily fluctuation, but I’ll pretend it’s from my awesome workouts the past two days! Ha ha.
