Kava, The Opposite of Java

Posted Oct 06 2009 12:00am

Good evening!

My plans for a decent afternoon walk were abolished by the gloomy, gloomy weather the city was smote with all day. Ah well, given that I’m starting to feel sore from this morning’s yoga, I guess I could spare my leg muscles any more exertion.

Before heading out to pick up the kids from school, I enjoyed a sad, sad Luna Bar (Nutz Over Chocolate) sitting by my rainy windowsill:

A Somber Snack on a Soggy Day

Once at work, my stomach kept pestering me to put something in it, so I had some string cheese and my usual Yerbe Mate:

I also feel the need to show you the adorable (Huge) sugar cookie the little girl I watch baked and decorated yesterday. Get this, she drew a picture of a flower in a field using edible ink ! Insane!

What Is the Recipe for Adorable Again?

Dinner was quickly scarfed down because I had to quickly rally up (and feed) three kids in order for them to come to my apartment for a couple of hours (the parents were hosting a school reception at their apartment for grown-ups only). I ordered take-out for everyone from Burger Heaven (I had to, they have a kid-friendly menu) and got myself a HUGE Chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat bread (I only ate half) with a nice side of grilled veggies, and a couple french fries. The whole ordeal left me stuffed to the max:

The kids and I had an awesome, fun time at my place (I burned off some of dinner’s calories by dancing with the toddler). I wish you could all see how absolutely adorable these children are, but out of respect for the family’s privacy, I will not be posting any pictures of them on this blog.

After I dropped the kids off at their home, I came home and unwound by enjoying a tea fusion of Kava and Chamomile w/Skim Milk and Honey. IMG_0994I don’t know if any of you have tried Kava , but man, that stuff practically gets you drunk. It’s weird, though, because it’s a super lucid, peaceful kind of buzz. I find I can’t drink it during the day because people start telling me about my local AA Chapters due to how tipsy I get from it.

On that note, I’m sleepy. Goodnight!
