I've always been told that if you're serious about losing weight you need to drop the alcohol. You can scratch that now...well maybe.
This study has gotten some play in the news today. Looks like moderate drinking for women at "healthy weights" won't lead to weight gain. According to the study, ordering a couple of drinks means eating fewer carbohydrates. Just stay away from those college frat party-like binges.
To me counting calories is a daily duty whether I'm trying to maintain or lose weight. I noticed a huge difference once I stopped the weekend booze fests. And regardless of what the study argues, after a few drinks I find it very easy to talk myself into a jumbo slice.
