Hello gorgeous. Meet the newest member of the family.
Isn’t she lovely?
Stevie sure thinks so.
This is an Omega 8005 masticating juicer. I snagged this baby during Amazon’s deal of day a few weeks ago for my mom and step-dad. Then I called up my boyfriend in a frantic.
Me: There’s an Omega juicer on Amazon for super cheap. I just bought one for Mom and Rick and I think you should get one too. Snag it!
He: Hmmm… I’ll check it out.
Me: You have to get one! I love my Omega and I’ve never seen a deal as good as this one.
He: Ok. Done. Bought it.
Wow, that was easy! Too easy. It’s amazing what a guy will do for a gal sometimes Guaranteed he bought this lil sucker for himself because he was sick of shelling out $6-8 a pop for organic fresh juice from the local juice bar. But it also made me super happy and excited to have access to a juicer whenever I go up to Tampa to see him! Oh and so far, he is lovin’ it!
I really, really love this Omega 8005. It’s almost the cadillac of all juicers. You have to take a little extra time and effort with juicing, but the juice quality is so worth it in the end, and clean-up is a breeze! Here’s a size comparison next to my other juicers.
Left to right: Breville Juice Fountain Elite, Omega 350HD, Omega J8005
Each juicer is unique in its own way. Here is a quick overview on centrifugal vs. masticating juicers , for those of you that would like more information. The Breville is a centrifugal juicer, but the Omegas pictured here are both single-gear masticating juicers.
I really believe picking out a juicer is like picking out a car, or even a breed of dog for a pet. Or even a boyfriend. (hehe, no offense babe)
Different juicers will appeal to individuals for various reasons. In my opinion, there isn’t a single amazing, do-all, flawless, perfect juicer out there. (At least I haven’t quite found it). Each juicer has its pros and its cons, and depending on your lifestyle and preferences, you will likely be more fond of one variety than the next person. But I promise there is an amazing juicer out there for you, and once you find that ideal juicer, you’re set! So everything in this post is from my personal juicing experience, reading countless reviews on amazon and juicing websites, and observing the habits and comments from my friends and family members who also juice.
Here’s my original review on my Omega 350HD masticating juicer . When I first got it I was pretty pumped, because after using a Breville for over a year I had really really wanted a masticating juicer. The Omega 350HD was the first masticating juicer I owned, and I immediately fell in love with it. Now that I’ve used the Omega 8005 model for the past several weeks, my preference is leaning towards the 8005. I like it because it’s very efficient with juicing leafy greens, produces minimal pulp, and is very easy to clean. Here’s a breakdown of the 3 juicers.
Overall, I definitely prefer a masticating juicer. The juice quality can’t be beat, due to the low-speed RPMs and the way the juice is extracted. Juice made with a masticating juicer can be stored for up to 3 days and still retain high nutrient quality. Although I do love my vertical stand-up Omega 350HD, I really really love the horizontal Omega 8005. That’s just my preference. For a lesser price you can still get high quality juice, with minimal pulp and very easy clean-up. The clogging issues and large amounts of pulp I get in my omega 350HD are slightly annoying when I’m trying to juice large amounts. (Juicing party anyone?)
Buying a juicer is an investment–for your wallet and your health! Your body and your mind will reap the benefits of a juicing lifestyle. But take your time when it comes to purchasing a juicer. Read lots of reviews, watch some you tube videos, and balance the pros and the cons. Although I love the Omega 8005, it’s definitely a slower juicer, and between food prep and juicing it’s a lot more time consuming.
I love each of my juicers in their own lil way. I suppose I’m a lucky girl that I get to play around with 3 different juicers whenever I fancy! Goodness knows that doesn’t apply to boyfriends. heeeehe
