Juice Plus+® ... Support the Elimination of Fructose

Posted Jan 07 2010 12:00am

Life is cyclical, the calendars stay the same, the years change. New hopes, dreams, trials and errors that we all go through in order to grow, learn, and reach our resolutions for the new year.  It's hard to believe a decade has passed in this millenium. It's interesting to see what the nexts decade will bring. One thing we know that we must no longer take for granted is the foods available to us that we eat. We always are recommending Juice Plus+ because fruits and vegetables are the most important foods in our diet. I want to share with you one item that is probably most responsible for the greatest number of health problems we have today...at least in the US. And that is fructose.  If you have 70 minutes to invest in your health, please take the time to watch the series of 9 videos from this researcher, Robert Lustig MD, UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology, as he explores the damage that sugary foods and juice drinks are doing to our bodies - specifically fructose. While Juice Plus+ is not the answer to your health problems, or even keeping you completely healthy, it at least provides nutrients from a variety of fruits and vegetables...and that's good! Here's part 1 of 9 videos that can be found on YouTube.com --

NOTE: There are a few things that are important that can be found in this series of videos. First, that a high-fat diet is the same as a high-sugar (fructose) diet. Second, a high fat diet and a high carb diet that eliminates fructose both work to reduce weight (think of the Atkins Diet and a Japanese diet - one high in fat, one high in carbs). Second, exercise is not done in order to burn calories - think about it: it would take 4 hours of jogging to burn off a double cheeseburger! Watch for WHY we should exercise. Lastly, that the amount of fiber that we consume is close to 1/50th of what is was 100 years ago. Fiber comes from fruits, vegetables, and healthy breads and grains. Juice Plus+ has some fiber but is mostly fruit and vegetable nutrients, so don't think you're getting anywhere close to what you need in terms of fiber.
