Even in Paris, Monday’s always get me. Yesterday started bright and early – the sun was shining, the birds were chirping…okay, I exaggerate a little.
Monday got off to a bit of a rough start. I don’t know why, but this past week has been really difficult for me, adaptation why. Dont’ get me wrong, I love Paris and definitely don’t want to leave….but I do miss the comfort and ease of being at home (and I may or may not be considering a new career in trafficking Sweet Italian Cream coffee-mate creamer…I’m just sayin’).
Must be the four week mark or somethin’. I miss my regular yoga practice, and trust me, my body does too. I was planning on going to Rasa Yoga for the 6:30pm Ashtanga class last night but the day was hectic and I knew it would be quite the production to get myself there and back. I got on the mat at home instead (took Joan Hyman’s class on YogaVibes) and man-oh-man are my hips tight. To be honest, I’m stressing about my practice a bit. Do I practice twice a week? Three times? Never? Once? When? How? Blah, blah, blah. You get the picture. It’s only temporary, it’s only temporary…
But. If I had been home, saluting the sun to my heart’s content this past weekend, I wouldn’t have been here…
We took a little stroll to Jardin du Luxembourg on Saturday and spent the rest of the day wandering over the city with no real direction in mind. That’s my favorite way to spend my days here – wandering around just watching and seeing the streets of Paris in action.
This morning is off to a nice start – I slept in, finished watching Paris, Je t’aime (new favorite movie!), and made a quick brunch.
Mixed lettuce with red bell pepper and carrots, and an omelette (cooked in French butter….so delicious) with a little bit of Boursin cheese in the middle. Yumz.
Not too much on the agenda today – I have class from 2-5pm and a relaxing evening to follow.
