Its Friday! *sigh of relief*

FRIDAY’S HERE!! Finally! This has been a strange week – it has both dragged on, and flown by. I really dont know how that happens, but it did.

I loved reading your comments on yesterdays post . Its nice to know that Im not the only one who gets wrapped up in the little things. I always just thought I was a little crazy. :) Turns out Im not!

I had big plans to go for a run last night after work, but by the end of the day I just wasnt feeling it. So I opted for Yoga Meltdown instead. I went with level 1 just because. Im actually pretty amazed at how much stronger Ive gotten since the first time I tried it . Its still no walk in the park, but its definitely easier. My non-existant upper body strength has turned into “I can almost do a proper chaturanga pushup”. I also give Jillian full credit for the rock hard quads Ive developed. Seriously, you’re welcome to come feel them, Im pretty proud. :)

I was a hot sweaty mess by the time I was finished. Thats the feeling of a job well done!

Lexie was happy when I was done - she may not look it in this picture, but thats because she doesnt like me taking pictures of her. As soon as I sat down I pretty much got attacked by my attention starved dog. 30 minutes is a long time for her to not get any love.

I wasnt in the mood to cook a proper dinner afterwards, but fortunately I made a big pot of soup the other night for no good reason. I didnt even want it, I just wanted to make soup, and so I did. Its odd, I know. But when I had dinner ready in 3 minutes I was glad that Im so strange.

It was delicious, and surprisingly filling. Basically, I threw a head of cauliflower in a pot with a little water with about half of an onion and 3 cloves of smashed garlic. I let it steam for a little while and then added about 3 cups of homemade vegetable stock. Once the cauliflower was good and soft, I added 1 cup of almond milk, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, and some red pepper flakes. Then I pureed it all with a hand blender.

I served it topped with fresh parsley, but it would be really good with cheese too. I just didnt feel like washing the grater.

After dinner, the boyfriend came over and we went to my parents house to hang out. We are so unbelievably cool, spending evenings with my parents is about the funnest thing we ever do. While he chatted with my dad about sports and other stuff that bores me, I caught up on some blog reading, and drank my moms wine. Not a bad night if you ask me!

Oh, I’ve been wanting to mention this and keep forgetting, I read about a study that showed women who drink a glass or two of alcohol every night stay slimmer than those who dont. Clearly Im doing myself a favor by drinking so much wine. :) Im pretty sure thats the best study thats ever been done.
