This is my celebratory first-outdoor-run-of-the-year post!
See, I’m kind of a chicken. I don’t like to run outside when it’s cold. I’m always cold anyway, and being outside when it’s cold makes my throat hurt and my nose run. And I live in the Midwest, where the weather is about as predictable as what Charlie Sheen is going to say next.
But today the stars aligned and it was 50 degrees and sunny and I was done with school at 1:00 and I got to run outside.
Guess how far I ran? 7 miles! I couldn’t believe it! I hit a wall at about three miles, but after I pushed through it I felt like I could run forever. Now my only worry is that I won’t be able to move tomorrow.
But let me tell you, I definitely needed it. It’s been so hard getting motivated to lose this winter weight, but hopefully the nice weather will help (if it sticks around).
No fun pictures today; my meals have been boring lately. But have no fear – tomorrow makes 10 days since my last grocery trip, which means it’s time to go grocery shopping! :)
Those of you runners out there, when do you “hit your wall,” so to speak, and how do you overcome it?
