It’s Official

Sunday marked a couple important points of officialness (yes, I realize this isn’t a real word, but too bad).

I would LOVE to PR in at least one (and preferably both!) of these.  To accomplish this, I’ve planned out my training,that involves running four days a week.
It generally works best with my schedule to run Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, but I’m not super rigid with this.  I will supplement all this running with resistance training twice a week and some low key yoga. If I follow this plan for the next 2 months, I should be all set to run a good 10K and 15K. What do you think, is my approach legit?  [Aside: check out my races page to see what happens to my times when I don't train. Last year I added 5 minutes to my Turkey Chase time. Eeek!  Must bring it down this year!]

I am toying with the idea of another half marathon in Feb/March.  A coworker is doing the Disney Princess Half in Orlando, which I could do.  However, it’s really expensive.  Like $140 just for registration, plus airfare, plus accommodation.  A more practical option is just to do the Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon in DC on March 17.  I did the National Half a couple years ago (I think it’s the same race, just renamed), and it seems a little disappointing to do the same race again.

Does anyone know of any half marathons in February or March within a couple hours driving of DC?
