Ahoy hoy! It’s nice to be back after a most relaxing, fun-filled trip to Bali… hope you’ve all been keeping well.
We spent a sublime first week on Lembongan island where the days were long and light. It’s a sea-side, seaweed farming village of dusty roads, aqua waters and cliff perched villas where our hours were dwindled away with yoga at sunrise, surfing, scootering (is that a word?), exploring and lots of generally not much at all.
It was a trip of many firsts…. I had my first SUP experience (stand up paddleboard) which I thankfully didn’t completely suck at and Matt, of course, really didn’t suck at; It was our first brave go at riding around on a scooter; and my first attempt to work ‘remotely’ and keep business rolling while on holidays… and I’m happy to say they all turned out to be fairly successful exercises.
But by far my highlight was snorkelling at Crystal Bay off the rocky cliffs of Nusapenida, there’s no other way I can describe it except that it felt like being in Finding Nemo – a truly breathtaking coral landscape full of creatures I’d never seen. Seriously incredible.
I took plenty of photos so here’s a few from our first stop at Nusa Lembongan and hopefully I’ll get a chance later this week to share some from our time in Canggu.
