Depending on the dose of prednisone I would call it imperative to be treated with an influenza shot.  Prednisone decreases the activity of your immune system and makes it easier to become infected.  Your physician will have an opinion of whether is best to give you a shot based on the dose.  Doses greater than 20 mg/day might decrease your immune response to the vaccine.
