It doesn’t get much better than that!! Some people know this as Bulletproof Coffee which was coined by David Asprey of The Bulletproof Executive .
David talks at length about things like nasty mycotoxins and mold that grow in non-organic, single origin coffee beans and how that makes us sick and fat. His qualifications for “good coffee” are extensive.
Here’s how it works:
Take 16 oz of amazing coffee (you can order his blend here ) and blend it with 2 tablespoons unsalted grass fed butter (I recommend Kerrygold Unsalted- Costco and Trader Joes have it the cheapest) and 1-2 tablespoons MCT oil or coconut oil. Be sure the coffee is hot, otherwise it gets nasty.

The whole point of buttered coffee is to act as a meal replacement to extend fasting. For example, you finish dinner at 6 the night before. For “breakfast” you have buttered coffee and then you don’t eat until the 16-18 hour point (ie: you have coffee @ 8am, you break fast at 2pm). This allows your body maximum fat burning and resetting time. It also gives you a full feeling with lots of energy despite only having coffee. I don’t want to explain the science behind it, but Dave says it well here .
Some people think fasting for women can be harmful for hormones. He talks about this here. I like to do it about once a week (more dairy or caffeine than that and I get a little loopy). It’s a nice treat and a great thing to do for your body.
