This fall,  HealthClass2.0  (HC2.0) celebrates ONE YEAR of providing experiential education around fitness and nutrition to under-resourced New York City communities. At a time when classes in physical education, creative expression, and nutritional school food are being cut in our public schools we are bringing HC2.0 sessions to students in grades 6-12 and are thrilled to step up to meet this growing demand: co-founders New School professor Natalia Mehlman Petrzela and celebrated social entrepreneur Ellen Gustafson and our team are hard at work educating our college leaders to inspire New York City youth to be agents of change in their own lives and the world around them.

In all sessions HealthClass2.0 students:

1) EXERCISE in an  IntenSati  workout that combines high-energy, easy-to-follow movement with spoken affirmations and fun music.

2) EAT a healthful, locally sourced snack provided by our founding partner,  BluePrintJuice , as well as other food donors.

3) ENGAGE in a thoughtful discussion of the food they are consuming and the connection between their personal choices and their potential to effect change in their own communities, which face enormous and varied challenges, ranging from limited access to fresh foods to DOE-determined “failing” schools.

We can’t wait to see YOU on Tuesday, November 27,  Giving Tuesday , for an amazing workout with Patricia Moreno, remarks from HC2.0 co-founders and lots of fun and delicious giveaways and prizes!
