Indoor Soccer

Posted Jan 06 2012 8:37am

Last night I played in my first indoor soccer game! A group of friends put together a team for the winter season. We will play every Thursday night at Seacoast United where they run all the youth sports programs. image
Half my team played soccer throughout high school and some even played in college, the other half have never played in their life. We joined the league with no expectations, just to have a good time together and get some exercise.
Let me just say, good thing! haha
We lost our first game 9-5.
Buttttt, we played way better second half and the score was tied at 2-2 (they just crushed us first half).

I am excited for next week! I felt a little rusty, since I haven’t played soccer in ages but towards the end of the game I was starting to get the feeling back.
My body is sore today. All the sprinting, stop and go movements and agility gave me a great workout. Going into the night, I was concerned that I would not get a great workout, but I ran a lot. It felt like I was doing a HIIT workout because I was constantly sprinting then jogging, changing directions and moving quickly.

Thursday Eats
I am going to try to post more of what I am eating to hopefully help hold myself more accountable for the foods I am consuming. I tend to post about one meal, and leave all the other ones out, except on WIAW . I haven’t quite decided how I want to do this, but I will try a couple things and see how it works. I might just do one post at the end of the day with all my eats, or maybe I will start posting multiple times a day, but that gets tedious, and quite frankly I have a real job to do too (although, I wish I could just blog all the time!)

Here it goes:

Breakfast: A mini whole-wheat bagel with a sunny side up egg, cheddar cheese and sugar-free Smucker’s Raspberry Jam IMG_2074

Lunch: A half of a whole-wheat wrap, with grilled chicken, gouda cheese and lots of veggies. I sipped on Vita Coco and had a lot of unpictured chips.  I put some of the chips into the sandwich, I love the extra crunch factor! SAM_0191 I snacked on an orange mid-day

After soccer I threw together a quick meal of whatever I could find in the fridge freezer. I threw some frozen spinach and corn into a pan with some EVOO, onion and garlic. Topped it with goat cheese and some Mango & Peach salsa on the side. I also had a Kashi Blueberry waffle. I know, so random, but I felt like it!

After dinner I snacked a little more, caught up on some TV and went to bed.

I will leave you with a terribly photographed action shot of me playing! Next week I will try to get better pics. :)

Questions Do you play in any sports leagues in your town?
Do you have any suggestions on how I should post up my eats? How do you hold yourself accountable for the foods you are eating?
