Improve Vision – Palming. Palming is very relaxing and can melt the stress away.
I am sure you have heard about palming. And, you may have even read about palming on my blog, but, let me refresh you on this subject. Palming works amazingly in conjunction with sunning , but, you don’t have to sun in order to palm. Nope, palming is good anytime, anywhere.
Palming is not really an exercise, but rather, a procedure. Palming is the highpoint of inactivity; it is meant to totally relax your body, your mind and to rest and rejuvenate your eyes.
Palming can improve the circulation to your eyes. Palming can be done anywhere, well, almost anywhere, but it should be done following a certain procedure. If you are palming at home, you will need a pillow. If you are palming at work you could use a briefcase.
1 – You will need to start with warm hands, this will help increase the flow of blood to your eyes. (Cold hands will actually repel it)
2 – Be comfortable while sitting in a straight back chair, but be relaxed.
3 – Put your pillow, or briefcase on your lap. And then, rest your elbows on it (it will support your upper arms). You can do this lying down, using a pillow on your chest to rest your arms.
Now, close your eyes gently. Don’t squint or squish them shut though. The key is “gently”.
4 – You can heat your palms gently, by blowing on them, or holding a warm cup. But, IT SHOULD BE WARM AND NOT HOT!
5- Now, very gently put your palms on / over your eyes. Do NOT press against your eyes, but make sure your hands are closed enough to NOT let in any light.
And, as you are doing this. Bring your mind to a happy, place. A pleasant memory, or maybe even to a dream you have. But, let it be calm, happy and peaceful place.
6 – Do not force you mind, just guide it, and when it starts to “go”, let it work for you almost like a meditation.
Sunning and palming are amazing ways to rest your eyes. To relieve them from stress and strain. And, it helps your mind and body release and get rid of stress also.
You can palm as often as you want. Try doing it when you have a headache, when you can’t sleep, or even if you are seriously stressed.
