My immune system has decided to take a leave of absence. Looks like instead of spreading Christmas cheer this year, I’ll be spreading germs.
I think my stress hormones finally released after I received my grades for the semester. Once I saw that I got straight A’s, I felt a cold set in as my body & mind slowly relaxed. This happens to me whenever I get a break, I guess it’s just my body’s maintenance plan. It throws up an Out of Order sign as soon as it can, and gets to work on a long overdue tune up.
I’ve been particularly pathetic this week though. So much so, that Justin brought home flowers for me because he said he “couldn’t stand the whimpering.”
Beautiful roses in Christmas colors, if only I could breathe through my nose enough to smell them.
It’s been an eventful week, despite the germs. My oldest sister arrived from Minnesota for the holidays! She is going to teach me how to make croissants. Very dangerous skill to learn, but I can’t wait.
We had a holiday cookie party at work this week, too.
I baked up the three batches of cookies from frozen cookie dough I had stashed in the freezer over the past two weeks.
The baking process only took about an hour once all the doughs had softened enough to cut them up.
