I am 35 years old and am getting serious about my heath. I have been interested in alternative health and vitamin/mineral/other supplementation for years. I am plagued by sinus infections and I generally feel terrible most of the time! The problem is--while I know a lot about health, I don't always practice what I learn. For example:
I never eat fast food or drink sodas....but I do eat too much pasta and bread. I'm a sucker for a good scone.
I am plenty active--running after a 4 year old boy, but I can't seem to get a good gym regimen going. It's easy to tell myself that it's not a big deal--i'm thin and athletic-looking, but I know that I need to get in better shape.
I know what supplements to take, but I don't always take them!
I am a good cook and know how to cook healthy, but it's really satisfying for me (and my family and any guests!) to use heavy cream in a meal...for the good of the dish, of course. I'm also liberal with my use of butter. I think these things are ok, but in moderation.
I know that yoga/pilates would be a good idea for me...but I never put aside the time to practice!
Starting now, I am going to move in the right direction. I'm going to take all of the great knowledge that I have gained through years of pouring over health books and websites...and I am going to make some positive changes in my life. Don't get me wrong--for the sake of the dish, I'll still use butter and/or heavy cream--but I'm going to do it less.
