I just experienced a twenty minute bout of sudden onset blurred vision in my right eye which was quite pronounced. Serious?

It occurred within an hour of a meal of purple barely adorned with olive tapenade and garlic and herb white bean spread (Sounds good doesn't it?).  The blurriness had the sideways lines you used to see on a television experiencing bad reception and were on the outside rim of my field of vision. I recently have been experiencing abdominal distress after almost every meal although that was not the case with this meal. I did not experience ANY concurrent pain whatsoever, just the poor vision. The blurred vision subsided after twenty minutes and has not returned. Is this serious? Have you any ideas of what it may be? I am in otherwise good health, 6 feet 1 inches tall, weigh 185, workout 5-7 days per week, and eat healthy. I do not smoke or drink and am not taking any medication. Thank you in advance for your help.

Are you nearsighted? Is there any history of detached retinas in your family?
