I was a bit of a cookie monster this afternoon, as I had some nibblins’ that escaped the cameras eye. Those nibblins’ would be 4 Nilla Wafers (I can’t resist them there things), a smallish gob of Sugar Cookie Dough. That is the occupational hazard of working with kids- you’re surrounded by their type of fare, and well, it’s tasty and tempting stuff. Fortunately, the rain from earlier had simmered down before I picked up Mina from school and I was rendered able to walk 3 miles to get her. It was a walk filled with foggy, fall goodness. I can’t get enough of this season.
Along with my mini-cookie splurge, I enjoyed the remaining half of this morning’s Pro Bar and a cup of Yerbe Mate.
On my walk home from work, feeling lazy, I picked up a container of spicy chicken stew from this great health food store/cafe two blocks from where I live. It was delicious, spicy, chunky, and exactly what I needed. I steamed some brussel sprouts on the side:
My Grandmother Would Beam With Joy If She Saw My Dinner Tonight
Chunky Potatoes, Carrots, and Chicken. Spicy As Can Be. Perfection.
All in all, it was tremendously filling. Like, make your innie belly-button pop into an outtie filling. Worth every bite.
I was able to walk off my fullness with a nice, leisurely evening walk to Carl Schurz Park . I love looking at the East River from that vista. The sky was foggy, so the city looked incredibly cryptic and beautiful.
I came home and fashioned myself a cup of chamomile tea w/skim milk and agave nectar and tried one of these for the first time:
Gotta say, it was pretty “Meh.” Also, I don’t know what peanut butter the package is referring to, because I couldn’t detect a trace of it. I say, if you’re going to have a brownie…have a freakin’ brownie. In the words of someone wise I happen to know, “It was a’ight for what it was.”
