We got to Corvallis, Oregon on Saturday afternoon and have been playing ever since. Both my sister & her family live here along with my man’s brother & his family. So, it has been a packed couple of days playing with our little man’s cousins, aunts, and uncles & having a great time together.
This morning I went for a run & it felt SOOOO good. It’s runs like today that solidifies my love for running EVEN MORE! I went 5.85 miles in 50 1/2 min (8:37 pace), my pace was a bit faster than what it is in Montana and I felt like I could run another 5 miles without any trouble (except I got a blister on the bottom of my foot, ugh).
So, for all of you that are interested in a secret to make you run FASTER & LONGER overnight:
Start out by living at a HIGH elevation (around 3000 ft or so works pretty good)
Take a trip to somewhere that is basically at sea level (I’m at 200-ish ft)
Run your heart out!!
It’s AMAZING what a lower elevation can do for your heart & lungs. That and it was a temperature above freezing. I could actually breath without freezing my lungs out...& it felt good to run in shorts (AND I didn’t have to push a stroller, babysitters are EVERYWHERE here!).
Now that you know my “secret”, here are a couple fun pictures...
our little man...or girl?!
He is a cute boy, but a pretty cute girl too! (playing with his cousin)
S’mores for dessert...the little man’s cousin got them ALL OVER herself!! If you look closely, her bib is actually STUCK to her chin! LOL!!
