Do you feel stuck in life?

  • You do the same thing.
  • You eat the same thing.
  • You hang out with the same people.
  • And you feel trapped in your own lifestyle, suffocating from the lack of opportunities and burdened by the endless train of thought.

You are probably ready for a big Restart.

A couple of months ago I had to step back and take a close look at my life.

  • Where was I going?
  • What was I doing?
  • Why was I here?

The answers that I have uncovered helped me completely restart my life and, of course, bring more balance into it.

Like I said plenty of times before, life balance is not a still state of life that you just maintain once you’ve found it.

Life balance is a lifestyle and attitude, and it depends crucially on our ability and willingness to change and accommodate new goals, new circumstances and new ideas. – Tweet this.

As human beings we always exist in a certain state of equilibrium. We adjust to whatever obstacles or circumstances come our way and rebuild our entire life accordingly. Over time the amount of obstacles gets so overwhelming that we lose our ability to cope with them in a balanced way leading to depression, tantrums, physical illness and just plain old feelings of internal and external chaos.

It’s best if we can recognize the first signs of the approaching meltdown and take preventive measures that will improve our lives and make us happier and more balanced beings.

If you feel that you are in need of the ultimate Restart (and all of us need it at a certain point in life) then answer these questions:

We all need to step back and take a good look at our lives. Are the goals that we’ve been working towards still important?

Basically, we need to reevaluate our deepest priorities.

Take a few minutes every couple of months to see if you are really living according to your priorities or if you are just finding excuses of why you would continue them the next day.

You might find resources and tools in the Reclaim Your Life ecourse to be extremely helpful to evaluate your life and see what needs to change. These are the same tools that I use to keep my life balanced.

After evaluating my life I realized that I was spending too much time on BalanceInMe (I want to be very honest with you here.) I still love this blog as a baby but I also realize that there are more important projects in my life today.

As you know already I’ve been spending a lot of time teaching Pilates lately. I really gravitate towards devoting most of my time to this occupation as I feel that it’s the ultimate way to balance both mind and body. I help people find their center both in a physical and emotional sense, I help them feel easier in their bodies and enjoy the freedom of pain-free movement.

You will see a lot more health-oriented articles soon and I hope that you will enjoy them. I will still write about balanced living of course, and I will introduce a lot of awesome contributors and guest authors to you.

I also want to announce that I will be looking for 3 Pilates students who would like to work with me via Skype. I focus on giving my full attention to each student that is why I work only one-on-one with the people who are committed to improving their bodies and their lives. I’ll talk more about it in a couple of weeks but if you are interested – send me an email so that I can put you on the wish list.

When was the last time that you took a break? And I am not talking here about a 10-minute break in your work day. I am talking about the ultimate break from your stressors.

Our lives are full of stressors whether it is your job, your kids (it’s a sweet kind of a stress, but still let’s be honest), your parents, that constant “plugged-in” feeling, exercise (it can be stressful too if you overtrain or hate what you are doing) etc.

A lot of times we feel that we do not deserve a break because it is not the right thing to do. I personally struggle with taking breaks from taking care of my girls. If I have to leave them and do something personal – I feel guilty because somewhere deep down I have a belief that I have to be with them 24/7. I think a lot of parents, especially mothers, can relate to me here.

However, I realize that I can be the best mother and the best example for my girls if I take time to take care of my own needs whether it is writing an article, working out or just having a weekend away with my husband.

My husband and I just got back from a wonderful weekend in Asheville where we enjoyed delicious cuisine, an unforgettable time at the Biltmore Estate, great shopping, and a breath-taking hike to some waterfalls. We were celebrating our 6th anniversary and we couldn’t have had a better time (yep, that’s me at the top of this article enjoying a pilates break at the Biltmore.)

How about you, what break do you need to take?

One of the hardest things is letting go of your dream or goal (because they can kill your happiness – read about it here. ) However, sometimes it is the best thing to do if you want to reclaim your life and your balance.

We start our lives with a certain portfolio of ideas and plans. However, as we mature we sometimes keep the same portfolio without ever reevaluating it. But:

  • Some things just don’t work out.
  • Some plans are not meant to happen.
  • Some ideas don’t stand up to the test of time.

BalancInMe was and still is my baby but now I realize that the vision that I had for it at the beginning is not what I feel passionate about any more. It’s time for me to let go of that vision and transform it into a new flourishing stream that I feel deeply connected to.

What do you have to let go of?

Are you waiting for an opportunity to knock on your door? Well, you shouldn’t because it never will.

Today is the time to open your door, catch the opportunity while it’s flying by and use it boldly and courageously.

Now that you have reevaluated your life, took a good break and cleared up some junk, it’s time to make room for something new and exciting. Something that is meaningful to you but that at the same time doesn’t interfere with your and your family’s wellbeing.

The opportunities are always there, we just have to be willing to embrace them and get out of our comfort zones.

Create a habit of writing down 5 opportunities that you see every day, no matter how big, small or unrealistic they are. Soon you’ll get into the habit of spotting them everywhere and you will just have to pick the right one for you.

My system has already restarted and I feel more balanced already. How about you?

Keep it balanced.

P.S. In the spirit of the change that I talked about above, I will be recording a new 10 minute workout for you soon so please let me know what you would like to see in it. Also please don’t forget to leave a comment and share your brilliant thoughts or questions.
