The main trick to static reps in order to build muscle size is to make sure you use a weight that over loads your muscle fully. So the weight should be around 130 percent to 150 percent heavier than your one rep max would be. Then I would have a spotter(training partner) help me on the pull up bar until my arms were fully bent and I would try to hold myself in that position for a count of five, and after 2 reps like this my arms were completely blown out! They really hurt!
