How Stress Affect Our Health

Posted Nov 14 2010 2:17pm
The thing that happened to me and my old friends have really stressed me for a couple of days. However, I really tried my best not to make it a reason to stop my exercising which always happened everytime I am stressed. And I am very glad that I completed the whole week, without any absent in my daily dance exercise every morning. But since my sleeping habit have affected by my emotions, I wasn't able to complete my goal to do atleast 3 to 4 times weeke run at the gym. I only did 2 times run last week.

From now on, I will not let any stressful things or person to stay on my way. I will avoid it or them as soon as I felt that this or they are stressing me. Why?

Stress can be a contributing factor in everything from backaches and insomnia to cancer and chronic fatigue syndrome. Scientists have known that psychological stress can affect the immune system, the body’s defense against infection and disease (including cancer); however, it is not yet known whether stress increases a person’s susceptibility to disease.

Stress release stress hormones, such as epinephrine (also called adrenaline) and cortisol (also called hydrocortisone). When our body produces these stress hormones it can increase blood pressure, heart rate, and blood sugar levels. Small amounts of stress are believed to be beneficial, but chronic high levels of stress are thought to be harmful.

Stress can increase the risk of obesity, heart disease, depression, and various other illnesses. Stress also can lead to unhealthy behaviors, such as overeating, smoking, or abusing drugs or alcohol, that may affect cancer risk.

Believe me, I am changing my lifestyle now!! Happy and Joy will always in my heart.
